Small Town Girl in the Big City--After leaving my hometown of Bloomington, Indiana in 1991 (little pink houses, "The General" Bobby Knight and Indiana University), I left my "Cutter" status behind to become a Chicagoan. With a background in art and telecommunications, and a dream to become a famous Creative Director, I fell through the rabbits hole and became a "suit" in account management.
My life in advertising has remained on the account management side, where Ive been able to exercise both the left and right side of my brain equally. Ive worked on everything from bug spray to soda (or as the folks back home would say "pop"). The portfolio of brands that Ive worked on is as diverse as it is large, including TRESemme, Alberto, Raid, Quaker, Gatorade, Sunkist, A&W, Canada Dry, Hawaiian Punch, and Goodman Theatre, to name just a few.
While I had the pleasure of working in agencies such as Lois and Chicago Creative Partners, the majority of my career was spent at Foote, Cone & Belding, where I left after 8 years as a Vice President Account Director. During my tenure with FCB, I was awarded Agency MVP for several brand-building efforts, and developing a World Class Advertising educational plan. Additionally, I was presented a Raise the Bar Award from the Creative Department for providing inspirational strategic and creative thinking.
While bug spray had its moments, Im now excited to be a RocketScientist working on Bally Total Fitness, as I am a true fitness nut. Being a self proclaimed "Swiss Army Knife," I add this to a small business I developed called, Art About You, creating personalized designs, as well as dabbling in interior design, art, music, literature, dancing, SCUBA, skiing, and Indy racing.
